All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Obituary of Paul David McCarty Funeral services for Paul David McCarty, age 54, were held Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Hart Assembly of God in Sikes, Louisiana, under the direction of Southern Funeral HOme of Winnfield with Bro. Pete May officiating. Interment followed at the Wright Cemetery at Sikes. A visitation was held at the church on Wednesday night, September 10. David passed away Tuesday, September 9 at his home in Sikes after a lengthy illness. David was born to the union of Daniel William and Frances Floweree McCarty on January 27, 1949 and lived in Sikes until his father passed away three years later. He was raised in the Crossroads Community and graduated from Caldwell Parish High School in 1968. He worked for many years in the logging industry and was a skilled mechanic until he became disabled with a heart condition. David was a hunter and outdoorsman who loved being in the woods and being with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean McCarty, a daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Michael Clingan, a son and daughter-in-law, Paul David and Toni McCarty, and a son, Brock McCarty and fiancee' Terri, all of Sikes; three grandchildren, Jessie, Hunter and Lawson, all of Sikes; his mother, Frances McCarty Walker of Columbia, brother and sister-in-law, Daniel "Boone" and Tommie Lane McCarty of Grayson; aunt and uncle, Lora Anne and Pete May of Grayson, and uncle and aunt, Pete and Avis Ann Shell of Angleton, Texas, aunt, Lorene Floweree of Freeport, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
