Julius Russell officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery, West of Columbia under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Mrs May died Wednesday, May 18, 1988 at Columbia Heights Nursing home following a lengthy illness. Mrs May was a native of Caldwell Parish, a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Elmo May. Survivors include 4 sons, Mr Clyde May of Columbia, Mr Leon May of Columbia, Mr Aaron May of Winnsboro, and Mr Gordon May of Logansport; two daughters, Mrs C.L. "Effie" Hinton of Monroe and Mrs Arvenia May Blackmon of Columbia; two daughters-in-law, Mrs Odessa May Alger of columbia and Mrs William E. May of West Monroe; 20 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steven May, Quinton May, C.L. Hinton, Clint May, Craig May, Stan Mixon, Joe May, and Waylon May.
