Jack McKeithen and Rev. Pam Roy officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett was born in Olla on January 6, 1906 to the union of Randolph and Lillie Jarrell Godfrey and died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at Avalon Place in Monroe. She was a retired beautician. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia since 1949. She served as communion steward, choir member and shared in the jail ministery for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Howard Bennett and her grandson: Bobby Bennett. Survivors include her son: Billy Bennett of Columbia, her daughter: Dot Bennett Hoben of Monroe, her grandchildren: Tommy Davis, Rick Davis and his wife: Melanie, Cheryl Rainwater and her husband: Art, Paula Atwell and her husband: David, Julie Hoben and Clay Bennett and his wife: Cindy, eleven great-grandchildren, her brother: J.E.Godfrey of Winnsboro and her sister: Marjorie McLemore of Monroe. Pallbearers will be David Erskine, Art Rainwater, Bobby Rainwater, David Atwell, Bob McIlwain and Charles Simons. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
