J.E. Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Columbia on January 13, 1937 to the union of Collin and Mary Jenkins Meredith and died Monday, June 30, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a riverboat cook with Canal Barge Lines. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #164 in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother: Ben Meredith. Survivors include her husband: Gearld Wheeler of Hebert, her son: Vallary Wheeler of Ardmore, Ok., her daughter: Gearlyn Wheeler Allen of Hebert, her sister: Lynn Meredith Palmer of Ridley Park, Pa., her grandchildren: Lena Allen, Taylor Allen both of Hebert, Katherine Williams and Whitney Wheeler both of Ardmore, Ok., her step-granddaughters: Sherie Roberts, Trishia Henderson and Amy Henderson all of Ardmore, Ok., her great-grandsons: Tyler Williams and Waylon Beal both of Ardmore, Ok., her step-great-grand-daughters: Krista Roberts and Kaylee Roberts of Ardmore, Ok., and her step-great-great-granddaughter: Kelsie Roberts of Ardmore, Ok. Pallbearers will be Joe Maxwell, Steve May, Ray Roberts, Billy Joe Poole, Glenn Meredith, Peter Thomas, Robert Washam, R.B. McClanahan, and Sammy Shipp.
