Wayne Reeves officiating. Internment will follow in Arlington Cemetery, Homer, LA under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA. Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Mr. Newsom was born August 18, 1924 in Kelly, LA to Dempsey Porter Newsom and Ruby Myrtle Sullivan Newsom and passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 in Springhill, LA. He was a resident of this area, a member of Temple Baptist Church and was retired from International Paper Company after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife Pauline Newsom; sisters Bess Stephens of Columbia, LA, Mae Jenkins of Nacona, TX, Bobbye Hudson and husband, Chuck of Doyline, LA; sister-in-law, Margie Newsom of Centerville, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Newsom was preceeded in death by parents, Desteen Newsom and brother, Elmer Newsom. Pallbearers will be Larry Brown, Andy Brown, Elliott Brown, Cleveland Bradfield, Matt Bradfield and Elton Stephens. Honorary pallbearer will be Tom Gough.
