Hodges said the body of Hindell Neathery was found in a pond across U.S. 165 from Arkansas Bar Saturday morning. The sheriff said Caldwell Parish coroner Linus Carroll placed time of death at sometime Thursday and ruled accidental drowning was its cause. Witnesses saw Neathery walking in the direction of the pond, apparently on his way home about midnight Wednesday, said Hodges. The body was reportedly found by a sheriff's deputy. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the New Liberty Cemetery near Holum under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Otellia Shock, Baton Rouge; two sons, William Neathery, Oklahoma, and Reginald Neathery.
