Obituary:  Mrs. Odellia Newson McCollum
January 31, 2003

Funeral services for Mrs. Odellia Newson McCollum, 93, of Grayson will be 
held at 11:00am Friday January 31, 2003 from the Riser Funeral Chapel in 
Columbia with Rev.'s Edward Smith, Joel Bignar, and Bruce Weatherford 
officiaing. Interment will follw at the Hebron Cemetery west of Grayson.

Mrs. McCollum, the daughter of the late John Cary and Flora Shumaker 
Newson, was born on November 21, 1909 in Winn Parish. She died at the 
Hardtner Medical Center in Urania on January 29, 2003.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the Springhill Baptist Church in 
Kelly where she taught the children's Sunday scholl class for 30 years. 
She was preceded in death by her Husband: Howard W. McCollum, 3 Brothers: 
D.W., J.W., and Paul Newson, 3 sisters: Jewell Newsom Holt, Lois Newsom, 
and Lucille Taylor, and her Neice: Chloteen Newsom Taylor.

Survivors include: 1 Brother: W.W. Newsom of Pineville, 4 Nephews, and 4 
Neices.

Pallbearers will be: Charles Newsom, Justin Holt, Steven Humphries, Tracy 
Humphries, Larry Humphries, and Loean Mayes.
