All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Obituary: Odis Curtis Thompson January 16, 1985 Funeral services for Mr. Odis Curtis Thompson, age 65, of Columbia, were held Wednesday, January 9, 2:00PM, at the chapel Riser & Son with the Rev.'s Julius Russell and Dr. W. M. Causey officiating. Burial followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Thompson died Tuesday, January 8, at his residence after a short illness. Mr. Thompson was a retired employee of the La. State Department of Highways, a veteran of WWII, a 30 year member of American Legion and member of Columbia Heights Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Mrs. Geneva McDowell Thompson, Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Linda LeBlanc, New Orleans, and Mrs. Marsha Dickson, Monroe; four brothers, Mr. Artis Thompson, Columbia, Mr. Hardy Thompson, Houston, Tex., Mr. Henry Thompson, Cleveland, Tex., and Mr. Walter L. Cook, Houston, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Sennie Kelly, West Monroe, Mrs. Josie Martin, Waukin, Tex., Mrs. Laverne Estess, Bossier City, and Mrs. Anna Albritton, Springfield, Oregon; there were two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Arnold Parker, Willie Gibson, Lance Arthur, Waymon Calhoun, Herman Crowell, Arlie Bratton, and Christopher P. LeBlanc.
