Tommy Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Parker was born in Clarks on May 9, 1933 to the union of Gresham Newton and Estelle McClary Parker and died Wednesday, July 16,2008 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was a retired carpenter and deputy sheriff with the Caldwell Parish Sheriff’ Office. He was a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: David Ray Parker. Survivors include his wife: Wilma Benoit Parker of Clarks, his son: Ward Parker of Clarks, his brother and sister-in-law: Arnold and Maureen Parker of Grayson and his grandson: Ryan Quaid of Grayson. Pallbearers are Paul Ferguson, David Parker, Johnny Hester, Ritchie Strong, Carl Dunn and Glenn Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Sheriff Steve May, Chief Deputy Glenn Gilmore and Gerald Rushing.
