Services for Mr. Daniel Lee Peterson, 102, Columbia, were held at 10 a.m. 
Monday, September 3, 1990 at Riser and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Columbia 
with Rev. Alan Miller officiating. Burial was in Welcome Home Cemetery in 
Grayson under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.  Mr. 
Peterson died Saturday, September 1, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport 
after an extended illness.  Mr. Peterson was born in Homer, LA, January 1, 
1888.  He was a retired log cutter, saw filler, scaler, plainer and a farmer.  
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbia, a Master Mason and a 
member of the Eastern Star.  Mr. Peterson was preceded in death by his wife, 
Minnie Phillips Peterson and his son, Corbin Peterson.  Survivors include a 
son, Mr. Hershell Peterson of Columbia; daughters, Mrs. Coy Williams of 
Shreveport, Mrs. Marie Devereux of Monroe, Mrs. Doris Walker of Hebert, Mrs. 
Lucille Cordray of Shreveport and Mrs. Margie Cottier of Peoria, Arizona; 
sister, Mrs. Geana Thurman of Minden; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren 
and 1 great great grandchild.  Grandsons served as pallbearers.
