Services for Mr. Hurshel Dan Peterson, 70, Columbia, were held at 2 p.m. 
Friday, January 11, 1991, in the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in 
Columbia with Rev. Bark Harrison and Rev. Stewart Bedillion officiating.  
Burial with Masonic rites followed at the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson 
under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home Inc. of Columbia.  Mr. 
Peterson died Wednesday, January 9, at his residence after an extended 
illness.  Mr. Peterson was a retired foreman with La. Forestry having worked 
33 years.  He was also a cattle farmer, a Master Mason with Columbia Lodge No. 
164 F and AM, Caldwell Chapter No. 78 R.A.M., Columbia Council 44 R and SM.  
Mr. Peterson was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbia and a 
veteran of World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Audy Lea May 
Peterson of Columbia; son, Mr. Donald Wayne Peterson of Columbia; daughter, 
Mrs. Patsy Lynn Wyant of Lawrenceville, Georgia; sisters, Mrs. Margie Cottier 
of Phoenix, Arizona, Mrs. Marie Devereaux of Monroe, Mrs. Coy Williams of 
Shreveport, Mrs. Lucille Cordray of Shreveport, Mrs. Doris Walker of Hebert; 
grandchildren, Heather Wyant, Mathew Wyant, Patty Wyant, Lesley Peterson, 
Audie Linn Peterson and DeWayne Peterson; several cousins, nieces and 
nephews.  Pallbearers were John Glenn Meredith, Jerry Duff, Jackie Barrett, 
max Shores, Billy Wallace and Mitchel Antley.  Honorary pallbearers were 
Charles Thompson and Lamar Simmons.


Additional Comments:
Hurshel married Audy Lea MAY on 8 Jan 1946 in Columbia LA. He was the son of 
Daniel Lee PETERSON & Minnie Lee PHILLIPS.
