Howard Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in the Columbia Hill Cemetery. Mr. Meredith was born on July 19, 1928 in Columbia to the union of Robert Frederick and Katie Davis Meredith and died Thursday, May 13, 2004 at the North Monroe Medical Center in Monroe. He was a retired funeral director with Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with over 50 years of loyal, dedicated service. He served as president of the Columbia Hill Cemetery for many years. He was a member of the Grayson United Methodist Church and a member of the Columbia Lions Club. Paul was an avid hunter and sportsman and enjoyed camping and cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives: Faye McDuffie Meredith and Irbie Fisher Meredith, his granddaughter: Katie Erin Spillers and his brother: Billy Meredith. Survivors include his sons: J. Brent Meredith and his wife: Sharon of Austin, Texas and Donald B. Wilson and his wife: Theresa of Mobile, Alabama, his daughters: Paula M. Spillers and her husband: Mack of Chatham and Terri Evans and her husband: Jamie of Grayson, his brother: Robert "Bob" Meredith of Columbia, his sisters: Pauline M. Patton of Grayson and Josephine M. Hanchey of Rayville, his grand- children: Meredith Braddock, Adrianne Meredith, Jennifer Wilson Glee, Sommer Malcomb and Amber Malcomb and his great-grandson: Ethan Braddock. Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
