Headline: Jeff J. Rester Rites Are Held
Jeff J. Rester of ward five died early Monday morning in a Shreveport hospital 
of a heart attack.  He was 65 years of age and had been ill for some time.  
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Baptist Church 
about eight miles northwest of Columbia.  Burial was in the church cemetery 
under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.  Rev. A. A. 
Calhoun was in charge of the services; he was assisted by Rev. T. O. Arrington 
of Columbia.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lula Fisher Rester of ward 
five; a daughter, Mrs. Waymon May of ward nine; two brothers: Albert Rester of 
Brookhaven, Miss., and Rankin Rester of Whitefield, Miss.; two sisters: Mrs. 
Maria Jones of Winnsboro and Mrs. Daisy Patterson of ward five, and three 
grandchildren.  Mr. Rester was well-liked by all who knew him.  He was a 
member of the Caldwell Parish Democratic Executive Committee from his ward.
