Obituary:    Ruthell Allen Spells
July 14, 2003

Services for Ruthell Allen Spells, age 72, of Thibodaux
will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2003 from the chapel
of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Michael Fontenot 
officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial
Park in Monroe.
    
Mrs. Spells was born in Caldwell Parish on December 30,
1930 to the union of James Luther and Callie Estess Allen and
died Saturday, July 12, 2003 at her residence in Thibodaux.
    
She was a retired surgical technician and was a member of
the Calvary Baptist Church in Thibodaux.
    
Survivors include her husband: Virgil Spells of Thibodaux,
her daughter: Joyce Hebert of Thibodaux, her granddaughters:
Jana Hebert and Lori Blanchard, her great-grandchildren: Jacy
Blanchard, Trey Hebert and Victoria Hebert and her sister-in-
law: Johnnye Allen McKeithen of Farmerville.
     
Pallbearers will be Jake McKeithen, Jason Mims, Jamie Mims,
Jessie Giovingo, Jason Graham,
     
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter:
Kathy Gaspard and her brother: Robert Allen.
