Jeff Wyant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Wheat was born in Grant Parish on April 9, 1927 to the union of Richard Randolph and Romella Sears Wheat and died Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. He was a retired lumberman, farmer, and mechanic. In the past, he worked as as security guard at Pinecrest School in Pineville. Survivors include his wife: Faye May Wheat of Grayson, his son: William Wheat of Dodson, his daughters: Tammy Wheat Fogleman of Bentley and Melissa Wheat Rivera of Las Vegas, Nevada, his brother: Morgan Wheat of Grayson and his sister: Annie Hatten of Grayson, his grandchildren: Jennifer and Julia Brister, five step- children and several neices and nephews. Pallbearers will be William Wheat, Wesley Burch, Terry Fogleman, Marvin Head, Morgan Wheat and Wayne Durbin. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Rushing, Algie May, Bobby Black, and J.T. Orr. Visitation is at the Hebron Baptist Church.
