The Rev.'s Virgil Jones and Gary Maroney officiated, with burial in the Welcom Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mrs. Rushing died Monday night at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe after a short illness. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Rushing of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. Valda Parker of Columbia; one sone, Eugene Rushing of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. J. T. Kenworthy of Grayson and Mrs. Zelma Graves of Longview, Tex.; three brothers, Claude Black of Chama, N. M., Luther Black of Sicily Island and Amos Black of Chester; and one grandson, Matt Parker of Columbia. Pallbearers were Jim Malcom, Oliver Wilson, Foster Holderman, Ezra Russell, Benny Cruse and Ronald Kenworthy.
