Memorial services for Rebel G. Ryland, age 52 of Columbia will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2005 from the First United Methodist Church in Columbia with Rev. Pam Roy and Rev. Sherman Jones officiating. Mr. Ryland was born in Alexandria on April 22, 1953 to the union of C. Burt and Velma Burns Ryland and died Friday, June 10, 2005 at his residence. Rebel was a 1971 graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria and a 1978 graduate of the L.S.U. Law School in Baton Rouge. He practiced law in Columbia for 25 years. He was past President of the Caldwell Parish Bar Association. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbia and also a member of the Columbia Lions Club. Survivors include his wife: Kathryn Hayes Ryland, his sons: Hunter Ryland and Ricky Ryland, his daughters: Alexis Ryland and Carmen Ryland all of Columbia, his brothers: Rhett Ryland of Baton Rouge and Judge Dexter Ryland of Alexandria, his sister: Sonya Ryland Millican of Baton Rouge and several nieces and nephews.
