Obituary of Maude Simmons
The Caldwell Watchman-Progress, September 4, 1975

Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Simmons, 70, of Columbia were 
held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Riser & Son Funeral
Home here with the Rev. Barksdale Harrison and the Rev. Braxton
Humphries Jr. officiating.

Burial followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery, west of Clarks.

Mrs. Simmons died Thursday afternoon in the Caldwell Memorial
Hospital here after a brief illness.

Survivors include one daugher, Mrs. Juanita Escalon of Monroe,
three sons, Walter L. Simmons of Hialeah, Fla., LeRoy Simmons, 
Robert M. Simmons, both of Columbia, three brothers, the Rev.
Robert Watson of West Monroe, Randolph Watson, of Baton Rouge,
Jack Watson of Monroe, four sisters, Mrs. Fleda Fitzgerald of 
Clarks, Mrs. Lena Stamper, Mrs. Lela West, both of Columbia, Mrs.
Celia Humphries of Monroe and 11 grandchildren.
