Obituary of Alon Stamper, The Caldwell Watchman 
January 31, 1974


Alon Stamper, 67, of Grayson died Thursday morning at Caldwell Parish 
Hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cross Roads Baptist Church 
with the Rev. Henry Lafferty and the Rev. Floyd Duchesne officiating.  
Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral 
Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Alma Lafferty Stamper; a brother, Willie 
Stamper, both of Grayson; and a host of neices and nephews.

Pallbearers were W. O. Stamper, C. L. Stamper, Arthur Harrelson, Layton 
Swayze, Alvin Berry, Eloy Washer, and Pete Parker.

Mr. Stamper moved to California when a young man and was employed there 
until his retirement about two years ago.  He then returned to the Cross 
Roads community where he again established his residence.
