The services for Mrs. Juanita Housley Stovall, 74, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 23, 2005, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Bill Gueringer officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. A retired employee with the State Department of Labor, she pursued her passion of teaching by earning a degree in Education from Northeast Louisiana University in 1996. She had been teaching for the past seven years at Columbia Elementary School, in Columbia, LA. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert, LA for over thirty years. She was also an active member of the Laubach Literacy Program and loved sharing and teaching others how to read. Mrs. Stovall is survived by her three sons, Sam Stovall and wife Lou of Hartland, WI; Tom Stovall, Jr. and wife Virginia, of Houston, TX; D. Logan Stovall and wife Sherri of Hebert, LA; one daughter, Karen Stovall Rocklage and husband Curtis of Mandeville, LA; two brothers, Mr. and Mrs. John Housley of Hebert, LA; George Louis Housley, of Monroe, LA; two sisters, Teresa Housley, of Hebert, LA; Theo Mae Hargrove and husband Ralph of Jackson, MS; two sisterinlaws, Ophelia Housley of Wisner, LA; and Merle Housley of Hebert, LA. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Summer Joy Garner, Matt Garner, John Michael Stovall, Kimberley Stovall Schulze, Alexa Ashland McGuffee, and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Stovall, Sr.; her brothers, Sollie A. Housley, Murphy Housley, and O.T. Housley; one niece, Cindy Lynn Housley; and her grandson, Marcus Lee Garner. Visitation for Mrs. Stovall will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd, Monroe, LA. Originally published January 22, 2005
