Tarver, 62, of Grayson, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with Brother Oscar Bradford and Brother Richard Poss officiating. Burial was in Welcome Home Cemetery. He died Friday at Hardtner Medical Center at Urania after a lengthy illness. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Highway Dept. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Velrem Tarver of Grayson; five sons, Tommy B. Tarver of Monroe, Marion Tarver and Lester Tarver of Grayson, Roy L. Tarver of Jena, and David A. Tarver of Enterprise; his father, Mr. Robert Rush Tarver of Columbia and mother, Mrs. Idella Turnage of Baskin; a sister Mrs. Bouie Nugent of Baskin and a half sister, Mrs. Lucille Nobles of Mangham; a half brother, James Turnage of Winnsboro; seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Marshall Tingle, T. H. Tingle, Tollie Volentine, Maurice Richmond, Willie Ray Smith, Charley Campbell, James Cook and Johnny Grant.
