Obituary:  Tommie Owen Rimes
July 29, 2004

Services for Tommie Owen Rimes, age 58 of Gonzales
formerly of Hebert, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29,
2004 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia
with Rev. Dennis Evans officiating.  Interment will follow in 
the Hebert Cemetery.
    
Mr. Rimes was born in Bartow, Florida on March 2, 1946
to the union of Edwin and Carolyn Foshee Rimes and died
Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at the St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Gon-
zales after a brief illness.
    
He was a supervisor for Plant Maintenance Services in
Gonzales and a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served
in the U.S. Marines.
    
A man of integrity, Tommie was a loving and devoted husband
and father.  He was also like a father to all his extended family.
    
Survivors include his wife: Gracie Parker Rimes of Gonzales,
his son: Tommy Edwin "Eddie" Rimes of Florida, his daughter:
Jessica Rimes of Hebert, and his sister: Becky Mercer and her
husband: Bill of Jacksonville, Fl.
    
Pallbearers will be Ben Barmore, Jason Douglas, John Jones,
B.J. Jones, Nolen Giddens and Rusty Puckett.
    
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Rimes, Mark Sharbono, Andy
Parker, Matt Mercer, James Parker, Otis Parker and Trey Parker.
