All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Obituary: Valvis "Big Son" Dupree January 9, 1985 Funeral services for Mr. Valvis "Big Son" Dupree, age 71, of Monroe were held Sunday, January 6, 2:00 PM, at the Grace Baptist Church, near Monroe, with the Rev.'s Julius Russell and Dr. W. M. Causey officiating. Burial following in the Hevert Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Dupree died Friday, January 4, at his residence, after a long illness. Mr. Dupree was a retired carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Duchesne Dupree, Monroe; two sons, Mr. Gene Dupree, Columbia, and Mr. Randy Dupree, Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Johnson, Monroe, Mrs. Barbara Brown, and Mrs. Ginger Faucheux both of Luling, LA; two brothers, Mr. Tracey Dupree, Hebert, and Mr. Alvis Dupree, Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Velina Veed, Mangham, and Mrs. Berda Lushute, Baton Rouge. There were 8 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Tom Corey, Hollis Cruse, Morrell Lee, Art Finley, Donnie Harris, and Dennis Kelly.
