The Caldwell Watchman, Columbia LA
Sam West, 91, of Grayson, died Friday, December 11, at the Caldwell Memorial 
Hospital in Columbia following a brief illness.  He was a lifelong resident of 
Caldwell Parish and was a member of Old Union Baptist Church west of Grayson.  
He was a retired school bus driver with the Caldwell Parish school system.  
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, a the chapel of Riser and Son 
Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Shane Duke officiating.  Burial followed in 
Old Union Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son, Inc. of Columbia.  
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude May West of Grayson; two daughters, Rose 
Marie West of Metairie and Juanita Rainer of Monroe; one sister, Annie Mae 
Thomas of Grayson; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  
Pallbearers were Alger May, Waymon May, Earl Bell, Bill Rainer, Jr., Bob 
Rainer and Scott Rainer.

Sam was the son of Iley Wilson WEST & Lee Anna GREGORY.
