Services for Linnie Gertrude May West, 88, of Grayson were 2 p.m., Monday, 
October 23 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Tommy 
Basco officiating.  Interment followed in the Old Union Cemetery west of 
Columbia.  Mrs. West was born in Caldwell Parish on May 15, 1912 to the union 
of Robert Ivey and Primrose Johnson May and died Sunday, October 22, 2000 at 
the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia.  She was a homemaker and a member of 
the Old Union Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam 
West.  Survivors include two daughters, Juanita West Rainer and Rose Marie 
West, both of Monroe; one sister: Lorene May Bell of Grayson; three 
grandchildren, Bob Rainer, Bill Rainer, and Jan Coleman; one sister-in-law, 
Annie May Thomas of Columbia, and six great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers were 
Bill Rainer, Bob Rainer, Scott Rainer, Earl Bell and Billy Joe May.  Honorary 
pallbearers were Jason Rainer, Waymon May and Tommy Coleman.
