All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Headline: LOCAL MAN KILLED IN LINE ACCIDENT The Caldwell Watchman, June 13, 1974 A 26-year-old Columbia man was electrocuted about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday while cutting limbs away from power lines for Louisiana Power & Light Co. He was identified as Alva E. Warner. Officials said the accident occured off La. 847 near the Ouachita-Caldwell Parish line. A fellow worker, Jack Johnson, was working nearby, but was not injured. However, he was treated for shock, officials said. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Homehere with the Rev. L. J. Stotts officiating. Burial was in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Mr. Warner was employed by Louisiana Power & Light and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Jorenda Rucker Warner; one daughter, Misty Warner, both of Columbia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hilburn Warner of Grayson; two sisters, Miss Cathy Warner of Grayson, and Mrs. Wanda Campbell of Shreveport; two brothers, Billy Ray Warner and Bennie Wayne Warner, both of Grayson; and a grandmother, Mrs. Cora Kenworty of Grayson.
