Services for Willye Burrell Weed, age 90, of Hebert will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2005 from the Welcome Home Baptist Church in Hebert with Rev. Bill Gueringer officiating. Interment will follow in the Prewitt Cemetery in Mangham. Mrs. Weed was born on August 10, 1914 in Mangham to the union of William Burrell and Jessie Jones Hixon and died Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia. She was a retired sales clerk with Western Auto Store in Columbia having worked some nineteen years. She was a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church where for many years served as pianist and treasurer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Purvis B. Weed, and her son: Purvis L. Weed and her daughter: Lillian Anne Murrell. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law: William A. "Dub" and Sharon Weed, her daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Donald Welch, her daughter-in-law: Kathleen Weed all of Hebert, eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Randy Weed, Todd Weed, Bryan Weed, Jason Murrell, Pat White and Todd McLain. Maj. Donald Welch, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearer. Any planned memorials may be made to the Welcome Home Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 p.m. until time of services Friday at the Welcome Home Baptist Church, Hwy 561, Hebert.
