Wilkes June 1980 Funeral services for Mr. B. M. Wilkes, 89, of Grayson were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grayson Baptist Church with the Rev.'s David Hudnall, Lawrence King and Dr. W. M. Causey officiating. Burial followed in the Welcome Home Cemetery near Grayson under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Wilkes kied Sunday afternoon in the Citizens Medical Center after a long illness. He was a member of the Grayson Baptist Church, having served as an active deacon since 1935. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Volentine Wilkes of Grayson; one daughter, Miss Mamye Louise Wilkes of Grayson; and two sisters, Mrs. T. L. Hines of West Monroe, and Mrs. Percy Robinson of Start. Pallbearers were Benny Ray Cruse, Jim Malcomb, T. A. Roberts, Jr., Richard Bradford, Tom Hendrix, J. R. Walters, Raymond Cruse, and Louis Grant. Honorary Pallbearers were deacons of the Grayson Baptist Church.
