Shane Duke officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Mr. Young was born on June 20, 1923 in Clarks, Louisiana to the union of William Paul and Emma Sherron Young and died Monday, December 20, 2004 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a retired engineer with Cities Service Oil Co. in Lindsay, OK. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay. He served in the Air Force during World War II and was a member of the Clarks Masonic Lodge #382 with 50 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents: his son: Gary Young, his grandson: Scotty Young, his brother: Paul Young, Jr. and his sisters: Ovis Masters and Blanche Delcuca. Survivors include his wife of 62 years: Jewel Woodruff Young of West Monroe, his sons: Eddie Young and his wife: Mary of Austin, TX, Charlie Young and his wife: Dawn of Cedar City, UT and Bobby Young of West Monroe, his daughter: Carleen Young of Salt Lake City, UT, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his extended family: Faye and James Turner of Wisner, Tilda and Waymond Calhoun, Binus and Barbara Duke, Jerry and Elaine Duke, Melba and Ben Nichols and Judy and Mark Meredith all of Columbia and a host of nieces and nephews. Masons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until time of services at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia, La.
