Obituary:  Zane A. McGuffee
July 7, 2004

Services for Zane A. McGuffee, age 77, of Enterprise will be
held at  10 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from the chapel  of
Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bob McIlwain and Thayne
McKnight officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rosefield Cemetery.
   
Mr. McGuffee was born on February 26, 1927 in Enterprise to
the union of Cary and Dolly Sones McGuffee and died Sunday,
July 4, 2004 at the Golden Terrece Nursing Center in Fort Worth,
Texas.
    
He was a retired field superintendent with Freeport Sulphur Co.
with 38 years of service.  After his retirement, for a number of years
he had catfish farms in Enterprise.  He was a member of the New
Ouachita Baptist Church in Enterprise and also attended the Columbia 
Church of Christ.  He also served in the U.S. Army Infantry.
    
He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty McKnight McGuffee.
    
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law: Betty Zane and
Kent Bogle of Fort Worth, Tx., his grandson: Erik Zane Bogle of 
Houston, Tx., his granddaughter: Leslie Bogle Thomas and her 
husband: Adam of Lewisville, Tx, his brother: Ancel McGuffee of
Enterprise and his sisters: Inez M. Lewis and  Audry M. McVay both 
of Enterprise and Amy M. Ferrington of Monroe.
    
Pallbearers will be Erik Zane Bogle, Adam Thomas, Tommy Haring, 
Terry Haring, Tony Haring and Bo Haring.
