To Nathan M Davis Ordained Minister or any other person Legally authorized to 
Join in Matrimony in Caldwell Parish aforsaid.
You are hereby authorized to join in Marriage according to law Mr. William T. 
C. Brown and Miss. Martha Ann Lilley of the parish of Caldwell State aforesaid 
there appearing no lawful cause of impediment to the same.
Given under my hand and seal of said court at Columbia this 19th day of October 
A.D. 1859

By Virtue of the license to me directed by the Clerk of the Eleventh Judicial 
District Court state and parish aforesaid did on the 20th day of October 1859 
unite in the bonds of matrimony Mr. William T. C. Brown and Miss. Martha Ann 
Lilley in the presence of the witnesses who with the have hereunto attested the 
act with me ordained minister.
