To any ordained Minister or Justice of the Peace legally authorized to 
celebrate Marriages in said Parish Greetings
You are hereby authorized and fully empowered to unite in the Bonds of 
Matrimony and Holy Wedlock, Mr. Miles Oulander Lilly and Mrs Mary Elizabeth 
Medley both residents of the state aforesaid, and to solemize and celebrate the 
said Marriage between the Parties as above Named according to the Laws and 
Customs of the State of Louisiana, and make return hereof , as the Law directs, 
and this shall be yout authority for so doing.
 given under my Hand and Seal of Office this 4th day of May A.D. 1867

I certify that I have, on this day, in pursuance of the foregoing license, 
celebrate and solemnized a Marriage between Mr. Miles Qulander Lilley and Mrs. 
Mary Elizabeth Medley agreeably to the Laws and Customs of Louisiana. In Faith 
whereof, I have together with the parties, and in the presence of the 
undersigned witnesses, signed this present on this 9th day of May 1867.
