To the Honorable the Judge of the 11th Judicial District holding court in and for the Parish of Caldwell, State of Louisiana. John S. Couch, a resident of said Parish & State respectfully represents to you Honor, Mrs. Mary James Henry Couch is a minor with neither father or mother, both being dead, that she is on heir to the succession of Faithey Couch whose succession was opened in said Parish, that said succession of Faithey Couch will soon be partitioned by a decree of your Honorable Court & rendered at the last October Session. That the said minor Mary James Henry Couch, now about 17 years of age is without a tutor or guardian that it is the wish of the said minor that your petitioner should take upon himself Tutorship, your petitioner being her uncle and she having no other relative in the parish aforesaid. Wherefore your petitioner prays that he be appointed Tutor to the afore said Mary James Henry Couch ___ his complying with the law & that under Tutor to said minor & for such other & further orders as the care may require. Let the prayer of the foregoing petition be granted and it is ordered that the application of Jackson Couch for the Me Tutorship of Mary James Henry Couch be duly advertised according to Law. Therefore all persons objecting to the said appointment are hereby required to file their opposition in writing in said office within ten days from the date hereof, or the said Jackson Couch will be duly appointed Tutor as aforesaid upon his complying with the requisites of the law.
