Cleveland Fruge'. ------------------------------- Judge Jack Crozier Watson was elected to the 14th Judicial District Court, Division "D", at a special election and took the oath of office September 15, 1964. He was re-elected without opposition in 1966. His term ends on December 31, 1972. He had previously served as city prosecutor for the City of Lake Charles in 1960, and from 1961 to 1964 was Assistant District Attorney for this district. Judge Watson was born in Jonesville, Louisiana, on September 17, 1928, the son of J.C. Watson, now deceased, and Gladys Talbot Watson, who re- sides in Lake Charles. He graduated from Bolton High School, Alexandria, in 1945, and received the B.A. degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1949, and the LL.B. degree from Louisiana State University Law School in 1956. From 1956 to 1964 he practiced in Lake Charles. On December 26, 1958, Judge Watson married Sue Carter Watson and they have two sons, Carter Watson and Wells Watson. Membership and offices held in school and fraternal organizations by Judge Watson include: Member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity; Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity; Pi Kappa Delta, speech fraternity; Blue Key National Honor Society; listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities; served as Vice-President of Southwestern student body; winner of Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court competition at LSU Law School. In 1950 Judge Watson enlisted in the United States Air Force and was dis- charged in 1954 as a First Lieutenant, having served in the Phillippines, Japan and Korea as Psychological Warfare Officer. He is active in the American Legion and is a Past Post-Commander W.B. Williamson Post. No. 1, American Legion. Judge Watson served in 1969 as President of the Liasion Council of Juvenile Court Judges. He is a 1965 graduate of the National College of State Trial Judges and in 1970 he was appointed a faculty-advisor.
