HACKBERRY -- Funeral services for Lillian Marie (Seay) Becnel, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, from St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Eugene McKenna will officiate. Burial will be in New Hackberry Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is 2-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary, and from 8:30 a.m. in the church hall. Mrs. Becnel died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in Sulphur. A native of Scott, she lived most of her life in Hackberry. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Survivors include five sons, Arthur Seay, Alex Seay, Oran Seay, Charles Seay and Pat Seay, all of Hackberry; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Stuard of Houma and Mrs. Doug (Isabel) Gray of Hackberry; one stepdaughter, Renee Marie Cantrell of Moss Bluff; one brother, Clyde Guidry of Hackberry; one sister, Mrs. Lorraine Cormier of Kaplan; 27 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren. Her grave is marked both “Aurelia VINCENT” and “Aurelia V. MARCEAUX". Two adjacent graves on a family plot are marked “Amelia MARCEAUX”, b. 23 Nov 1895, d. 18 May 1970, and “Russell Paul MARCEAUX”, b. 12 Oct 1923, d. 9 Oct 1967. Aurelia VINCENT was the second wife of my great grandfather Albert NUNEZ, b. 1854, d. 1933. The home of Albert and Aurelia was near Mallard Bay, north of the Intracoastal Waterway in Cameron Parish. Albert and his first wife, Elodie DUHON, divorced about 1910. In hopes of learning more about my great grandfather and Aurelia, I would like to be contacted by the family of Aurelia Vincent Marceaux.
