Report on the evacuees By NELL COLLIGAN Page 5, The Cameron Parish Pilot, Cameron, La., March 2, 2006 By NELL COLLIGAN LARRY LABOVE This week we have another e-mail from Vince Theriot. He wanted to mention that his wife’s parents, Larry and Geraldine LaBove, lost their home in Creole. While waiting for their FEMA trailer, they stayed with their son, Brad. Now, they are staying near Ned and Crystal Wilson’s home in Lake Charles. They have purchased a manufactured home and will be moving it to Creole soon. During the week I visited the Louisiana Archives Index of Cameron Parish. The Biographies section has stories of many early Cameron Parish settlers. It was so interesting to read about Frank Sweeney whose life spanned the years from 1859-1936. If your ancestors were early settlers of the parish, you might want to add their story to the archives. I feel sure Kathy Tell will be happy to help you.
