A2 column 3 Lake Arthur - The funeral for Mrs. Joseph E. (Adele Laurents) Flash Jr., 85, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2005, in First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur. The Rev. David Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Visitation is 5:30-7 p.m. today and 3-7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home and from 8:30 a.m. Monday in the church. She died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in Cornerstone Hospital of Southwest Louisiana in Sulphur. She was a native of Lake Arthur and a graduate of Gueydan High School. She married and moved to Ville Platte to raise her family. She resided in Grand Chenier and retired to Lake Arthur. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in each community she lived in. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former Sunday school teacher and a vacation Bible school principal. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Earl Flash Jr. of Lake Arthur; one daughter, Adele Suzanne Flash Wardman of San Clemente, Calif.; one son, Robert Brent Flash of Lake Charles; two sisters, Joy Weldon of Thibodeaux and Alice Kelly of Orange Beach, Ala.; one brother, Robert B. Laurents of Springfield, Va.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Adele Champagne Laurents; one brother, Gus Laurents Jr.; and one son, Joseph Earl Flash III, formerly of Columbus, Neb. FLETCHER, Donna Miller LCAP 12/13/2005 Donna Rae Miller Fletcher, 53, of Lake Charles entered her heavenly home 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005. She entered His gates with thanksgiving where she now lives, loves and continues to praise her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John 13:34-35: “As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples” — and so Donna did. Mrs. Fletcher was raised in Cameron Parish and was a graduate of South Cameron High School, where she lettered in track and basketball. She attended McNeese State University. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a group leader for the BSF — The Bible Study Fellowship International. She was also a member of the Trinity handbell and adult choirs and enjoyed many years of singing with the Messiah Chorus. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 33 years, Dennis W. Fletcher, M.D.; two sons, Chad Wayne Fletcher and his wife, Stephanie, of Denver and Jeremy Warren Fletcher of Chicago; four grandchildren, Jacob Wayne Fletcher, Nathan Paul Fletcher, Tyler Andrew Fletcher and Garrett David Fletcher; her mother, Ruby Murphy Miller of Oak Grove; and three sisters, Frances Carol Miller and Judy Rutherford, both of Oak Grove, and Karen Boudreaux of Lake Charles. She was preceded in death by her father, E. Warren Miller. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Trinity Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve James will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Wednesday and 7-9 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Visitation in the church will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. As reminded frequently by Donna, “this is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Ps 118:24. FONTENOT, Delson Pierre LCAP 09/03/05 Delson Pierre Fontenot, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a native of Basile and had lived in Johnson Bayou for the past 11 years. He was a retired tugboat captain. He loved to play cards, fish and dance and also enjoyed bingo. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother. Survivors include his longtime companion, Laura Menard; five children, Jerry Duhon of Elton, Howard Duhon Jr. of Lake Charles, Gwen Royer of Westlake, Judy Chapman (Fontenot) of Lake Charles and Mona Fontenot of Westlake; two brothers, John Fontenot and wife Cary and Clifford Fontenot and wife Carolyn, all of Sulphur; one sister, Florence Devall and husband Ernest of Big Lake; 17 grandkids; and 16 greatgrandkids. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Fontenot; two brothers, D.L. and Fred Fontenot; son, Larry Duhon Sr.; one son-inlaw, George Royer; one grandson, Jason Duhon; and one great-grandchild, Kaigen St. Jermaine. His funeral will be at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 3, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. Winfred “Snow” Ramuar will officiate. Burial will be in Black Bayou Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. today. FONTENOT, Fred Paul LCAP 07/14/05 Fred Paul Fontenot, 58, of Lake Charles died at 11:58AM Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in a local hospital. Mr. Fontenot was born July 14, 1946 in Eunice and lived most of his life in the Big Lake and Lake Charles area. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and Sowela Technical School. He worked twenty years at St. Patrick's Hospital as a Nurse's Aid and LPN and has worked the past four years at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fontenot will be remembered for his kindness and his gentle and giving nature for his fellow man. He will also be remembered for his ability to pull never-ending pranks and making people laugh. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. "Now he is sleeping until the Lord comes". He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of thirty-one years, Clara Vincent Fontenot of Lake Charles; three brothers, Dillard "John" Fontenot and Clifford Fontenot, both of Sulphur, and Delson Fontenot of Cameron; one sister, Florence Duvall of Big Lake and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, D.L. and Daniel Fontenot and two children, Allen Paul and Evia Lee Fontenot. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, July 15, 2005 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Jerry Fletcher will officiate. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
