He was an operator employed by Certainteed in Lake Charles. He was an honor graduate at South Cameron High School in 1994 where he graduated third in his class. Other honors include academic all-state, all-district (football-offense and defense), and student council member. He was the youngest person ever to receive the Eagle Scout award in Cameron Parish at age 12. He graduated from McNeese State University with honors in May, 1999. He was a member of the Cameron Knights of Columbus, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, the Board of Directors of Cameron Parish Water District #1, and the Cameron Parish Recreation Distric #6. He was also a volunteer coach for the local elementary football team. He is survived by his wife, Tara LaBove Hebert, and three children, Olivia Marie Hebert, Thomas Christopher Hebert, and John Michael Hebert, all of Cameron; his parents, Jennifer Jones of Cameron, and Keith Hebert of Lake Charles; brothers, Patrick Hebert and Mikey Bercier, both of Cameron, and one sister, Sarah Marie Hebert, of Lake Charles; and his paternal grandmother, Ruby Hebert of Cameron; many aunts and uncles, including his great aunts, Sybil McCall and Virgie LeBleu. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, J.B. Jones, Jr. and Fae McCall Jones, and his paternal grandfather, Roy F. Hebert. Chris was a loving son, brother, devoted husband and father who enjoyed spending time and caring for his family. He loved to cook, rebuild vintage automobiles, and spend time playing with his children. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Creole from 12 noon to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron, with burial at the church cemetery. Hixson & Sons, Lake Charles, LA Clifton Hebert, 91, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at his residence. He was a native of Cameron Parish and was a resident of the Lake Charles area. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish. Mr. Hebert worked for First Federal Bank in the maintenance department prior to his retirement. Survivors include his loving wife, Loris Hebert of Lake Charles; one daughter, Velma Nunez of Lake Charles; two step sons, Warner Duhon of Toledo Bend and Jovan Duhon of Pearland, TX; one sister, Beulah Tittle of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Theresa Johnson and Connie Belaire; two great grandchildren, Jacob Belaire and Angela Mitchell; and one great great grandchild, Andrew Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Angelle Hebert; two brothers, Nelson Hebert and Garfield Hebert; and one sister, Christine Armstrong. HEBERT, Robert McKinley LCAP 10/29/2005 Robert McKinley “Booster” Hebert, 91, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Grand Lake. He was a member of Grand Lake Faith Temple. Mr. Hebert was a member of Mason Lodge 165 of Lake Charles. He was employed by Pure Oil and Union Oil as a tug boat captain and gauger for more than 35 years. He owned and operated Hebert’s Trailer Park in Grand Lake. He was a duck hunting guide for more than 40 years. Survivors include two sons, Robert Lacton Hebert and wife Donna of Lake Charles, and Gerald James Hebert and wife Sharon of Grand Lake; two brothers, Edward Hebert of Lake Charles and Ernest “Boone” Hebert of Grand Lake; five grandchildren, Brenda Hebert of Broken Arrow, Okla., Cheryl Hebert of Dallas, Karen Hawley of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Dina Bourgois of Lake Arthur, and Julie Saulsberry of Moss Bluff; and four great-grandchildren, Leslie Clark, Taylor Hawley, Alex Hawley and Josh Hawley.
