A2 column 3 LAKE ARTHUR — Funeral services for Adam Calvin LaBauve, 85, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Lake Arthur. Mr. LaBauve died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Jennings American Legion Hospital. Interment will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery. The Rev. Francis Appuhamy will officiate. The family requests visiting hours be observed 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. Thursday. A native of Grand Chenier, Mr. LaBauve was a resident of Lake Arthur. He served in the Army during World War II. He retired as a carpenter of 50 years with local Union 953. He loved to shrimp and garden. He was the owner of LaBauve Sharp-All. He was a life member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy B. LaBauve of Lake Arthur; one son, Chris LaBauve and wife, Rebecca, of Richard; one daughter, Roberta Dyke and husband, Howard, of Lake Arthur; one sister, Dorothy Kelly of Bundick Lake; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Miller LaBauve and two sisters, Beulah Andrus and Roberta LaBauve. A2 CAMERON — John Joseph Landry Jr., 73, passed away at 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a native of Jennings, moving to Cameron in the early ’50s. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He worked as a diver in his younger years and retired as a welder. After retiring, he spent most of his time in his shop doing woodwork. He was a past member of Cameron Parish District 1 Water Board and a longtime member of the American Welders Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Azalea Landry; three sons, Ronald and Vernon Jackson and Jon Landry; and one grandson, Ronnie George. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Barbara Badon Landry of Cameron; three daughters, Jeannie George and her husband, David, of Lake Charles, Susan Beard and her husband, Terry, of Cameron and Sharon Brunet of Ragley; two sons, John Joseph Landry III and his wife, Vida, of Grand Chenier and Kim Landry of Oklahoma; one sister, Beverly Walker of Jennings; 13 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, from Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Monsignor Louis Melancon will officiate. LaSALLE, Earnest LCAP 10/12/2005 Earnest La Salle, 73, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, in a local hospital. He was a native of Cameron, and he had lived in Lake Charles for many years. He was a member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church. He was a deacon, and he assisted in the ministry for the sick and shut-in. Survivors include three sons, Armna (Tris Lynn) La Salle, John (Tammy) La Salle and Jacob La Salle, all of Lake Charles, and adopted son Jerry La Salle; one daughter, Stephanie Henry of Lake Charles; one brother, Gilbert La Salle of Cameron; one stepbrother, the Rev. Roland Mouton Sr. of Houston; two stepsisters, Geneva Laws of Lake Charles and Susie La Salle of Cameron; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and wife, Barbara La Salle. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 12, in Messiah Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Owens will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of James Funeral Home. Visitation is fom 9 a.m. in the church. LASALLE, Gilbert LCAP 11/18/2005 Gilbert LaSalle, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, in a local care center. He was a lifelong resident of the Cameron area. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Leroy LaSalle and wife Gloria and Jerry LaSalle, all of Lake Charles; one daughter, Gretta January of Cameron; six grandchildren, Terrence January, Laurette January, Mitz LaSalle, Melissa Washington, Jerry LaSalle Jr. and Vanessa LaSalle; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two special friends, Doris Harris and Ray Paul McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nancy LaSalle; his wife, Beatrice Bishop LaSalle; one daughter, Lillie Vay LaSalle; two brothers, William and Ernest LaSalle; and one sister, Lucy January. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 18, in the old Greater St. Mary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bargeman Cemetery in Cameron under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Friday in the church. The family would like to give special thanks to Odyssey Healthcare of Lake Charles. LeBLANC, Sis. Rosie Rena LCAP July 8, 2005 Sis. Rosie Rena LeBlanc was born to the late Mrs. Ida January Washington and Mr. Frank Washington on Aug. 27, 1914, in Grand Chenier. Sis. LeBlanc resided in Grand Chenier all of her life. She united in holy matrimony to Mr. Johnny LeBlanc. Sis. LeBlanc was employed for the McCalls and the Broussards for many years. She united with the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the Rev. Keys. She remained a member of the pastorage of Eld. J.B. Freeman, Eld. Nelson Kennerson, Supt. J.J. Davis and Supt. Ivanhoe Terry. Her favorite song was “In the Morning When I Arise.” Sis. LeBlanc was a former usher of the church. She served faithfully and attended church dutifully until her health began to fail her. She departed this life Thursday, June 30, 2005, at 8:30 p.m. in the Cornerstone Hospital in Sulphur. Sis. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mrs. Ida January Washington and Mr. Frank Washington, formerly of Grand Chenier; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Berry and Mrs. Ellen Romero, both formerly of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Jenny Gums, formerly of Lake Arthur; her husband, Mr. Johnny LeBlanc; and three brothers, Mr. Sam Washington, Mr. Charles Washington and Mr. Ernest Washington, all formerly of Lake Charles. She leaves to cherish her memories one devoted niece, Mrs. Julia Dozier of Lake Charles; three aunts, Mrs. Lillie Harrison of Grand Chenier, Mrs. Emma Frank of Port Arthur, Texas, and Mrs. Mae Dozier of Houston; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, in Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ of Lake Charles. The Rev. Ivanhoe Terry will officiate. He was a lifelong resident of Cameron and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and VFW. He was in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He loved fishing with his boys, stepsons and family. LITTLE, Lenny John LCAP 08/15/05 HACKBERRY — Funeral services for Lenny “Paw Paw” John Little, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, from St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry. The Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in the Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss, under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Little died at his residence on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 10:55 p.m. Visitation will be at St. Peter Catholic Church Hall in Hackberry today, Aug. 15, from 2-10 p.m., and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to the time of services. Mr. Little was born to Léonard V. and Alzina Hebert Little on Aug. 7, 1919, in Hackberry, where he resided all of his life. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry and the Cattlemen’s Association. Mr. Little retired in 1982 as a pipe fitter at Cities Service Refinery after 36 years of employment. Pallbearers will be John Kevin Woods, Michael Kyle Woods, Butch Little, Buster Reeves, Shawn Reeves and Willard Little. Honorary pallbearer will be Damon Paul Sonnier. Roy Logg, 69, of Singer, will be held at 10 a.m Thursday, Aug. 4, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Big Wood Cemetery in Edgerly. Mr. Logg died Sunday, July 31, 2005 in his residence. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 4, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mr. Logg was born in Cameron. He worked as a fence builder. He is survived by his wife, Linda Faye Logg; one daughter, Shirly Adams and husband Jimmie of Singer; three sons, Curtis Logg of Singer, Jeff Logg and wife Elizabeth of Houma, and Charlie Borders of Houma; three sisters, Agnis Hutchins, Blanch Foreman, and Ruby Boudreaux, all of Lake Charles; one brother, Pervis Logg of Duson; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
