He was a native and lifelong resident of Creole. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Billy Richard and wife Debra of Creole and Terry Richard and wife Karen “Cookie Ann” of Cameron; one daughter, Larmae Miller and husband Linford of Creole; two sisters, Veda Duhon and Larnice Duhon, both of Creole; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lois Richard; one son, A.B. Richard; and one daughter, Geneva Conner. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, from Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph McGraff will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Mausoleum under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Creole. Visitation is 8 a.m.-10 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. RICHARD, Eunice Eve LCAP 08/6/05 Eunice Eve Richard, 97, of Lake Charles, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, in local care center. She was born in Creole and lived there until moving to Big Lake with her daughter 20 years ago. She loved being outdoors, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. She is survived by her daughter, Mayful Harris and husband Benjamin of Big Lake; brother, Loomis Broussard of Creole; six grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her husband, Jessiner Richard; and one son, Russell Richard. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe McGrath will officiate. RICHARD, Mamie LCAP 10/29/2005 GRAND CHENIER — Mamie B. Richard, 78, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in a Lafayette hospital. Mrs. Richard was a native and life resident of Grand Chenier. She was a graduate of Grand Chenier High School and a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister. Mrs. Richard was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 364, the Ladies Altar Society and the Cameron Parish Homemakers Club. She loved to play cards and bingo with her friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will truly be missed. Mrs. Richard is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Ball and husband David of Kaplan; two sons, Glenn Richard and Edmond Richard Sr. and wife Louella, all of Grand Chenier; sister, Peggy Matthew of Kaplan; grandchildren, Michelle Mhire, Michael Richard, D.J. Ball, Eddie Richard, Amanda Ball, Josh Richard, Anne Conner, Richard Ball and Madison Richard; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Mhire, Ian Richard and Hailee Ball. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Richard; son, C.A. Richard; and sister, Mable Miller. LCAP 10/12/2005 CREOLE — Placide Delma “P.D.” Richard, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Youngsville. He was a lifelong resident of Creole. He was a sponsor of the Louisiana High School and McNeese Rodeo Association, Cameron Parish 4-H and FFA, American Quarter Horse Association, Cutting Horse Association, Cattlemen’s Association and Louisiana Farm Bureau. He was a third-degree Knight of Columbus. P.D. was a rancher, cattleman and farmer and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include one sister, Elma Hebert of Grand Lake; three nieces, Carolyn Daniels of Creole, Clarice LaFosse of Grand Lake and Kala Billedeaux of Sweetlake; numerous greatnieces and great-nephews; and his dear, trusted friends, Roy and Patricia Boudreaux and Sissy and Dan Nunez. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Alida Richard; one brother, Leslie Richard; one sister, Verd LeBouef; and one niece, Theresa Mudd. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, from St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph McGrath will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
