Burial will be in the New Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry, Louisiana, under the direction of Hixson- Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Ms. Talbert died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 in West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. Visitation hours will be at the church on Friday, April 29, 2005 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday, April 30, 2005 from 8:00 A.M. until service time. Ms. Talbert was born December 25, 1916 in Hampden, Maryland. She lived in Hackberry for 12 years, having moved here from Baltimore, Maryland. She was of the Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Talbert, in 1968, she was also preceded in death by one daughter and one son. Survivors include, two daughters, Darleen Swire of Hackberry, Louisiana; and Patricia Haller of Guyton, Georgia; 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six great- great grandchildren. TAYLOR, Zach LCAP 02/21/05 Pg. A5 & 02/22/05 Pg. A2 Born March 31, 1976 Died February 19, 2005 Zach James Taylor, 28, of Grand Lake, died Saturday, February 19, 2005 in his residence. He was born in Lake Charles and was a lifelong resident of Grand Lake. Mr. Taylor was a graduate of Grand Lake High School in 1994. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1994 through 1998 where he served as an E-4 on the USS Alabama Submarine. He then attended Sowella Tech. He worked offshore for Cetco and was an avid fisherman and loved good music. He was a loving Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He had a great love for life. Survivors include one daughter, Brailee N'Cole Taylor of Grand Lake; parents, DeeDee Taylor, and Perry and Debbie Taylor; brothers, Billy Taylor and wife, Laura, Brandon Taylor and wife, Mandy and Garrett Taylor; one sister, Kourtney Hooper; maternal grandmother, Toney O'Blance; paternal grandmother, Freda Hooper, all of Grand Lake; paternal grandfather, Willis Taylor of Lake Charles; maternal great grandmother, Ella O'Blance of Grand Lake; nephew, Kobe Taylor of Grand Lake and Godchild, Mary Breaux of Moss Bluff. THIBODEAUX, Adam LCAP 06/23&24/05 Adam Thibodeaux, 88, of Lake Charles died at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2005 in a local hospital after suffering from Alzheimer?s for several years. He was born January 7, 1918 in Grand Chenier, LA to John and Mary Telechia Montie Thibodeaux. Mr. Thibodeaux was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Europe during WW II with the 210th Ordinance CO. Upon his return from the war; he graduated from Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette, (now ULL) with a BA degree in education. He subsequently attended Ole Miss University, obtaining a Masters of Education in administration and supervision in 1962. His teaching career spanned thirty years with the Cameron Parish School Board including teaching and principalships at Johnson Bayou, Sweetlake, Creole, Grand Lake, and Cameron. He retired from teaching from Grand Lake School in 1971. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, traveling, and enjoying time with his family. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Mable Primeaux Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; three daughters, Brenda Roberts of Lake Charles, Joann Camp and husband John of Kingwood, TX, and Marlene Rolfsen and husband Chris of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Clay Camp, Bree Roberts, Rhiannon Roberts, Brandon and Heather Rolfsen; one great granddaughter, Courtney Paige Camp. He is also survived by two sisters, Leona Thibodeaux Reed and husband Aubrey and Sybil Thibodeaux Dallas all of Lake Charles and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild, John Clayton Camp, III. His funeral will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 24, 2005 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Hixson & Sons LAKE CHARLES - Bernice Helms Thibodeaux, 85, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005, in a local hospital. She loved Jesus and her family. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith in Jesus Christ." Ps.136 "For His mercy endures forever." She was a Catholic. Bernice was born in Sweetlake and after graduation, she lived in Lake Charles. She attended Business College and worked at Managan and Carroll as a bookkeeper. Most of her life was spent as a wife and mother. Mrs. Thibodeaux will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her children, Ronald Dewey Thibodeaux and wife, Marilyn; John Scott Thibodeaux and wife, Linda; Dianne Thibodeaux Bertrand and husband, Levi; her sister, Patricia Lundy and husband, T.E. TRAHAN, Alton Alfred LCAP 04/16/05 Funeral services for Mr. Alton Alfred Trahan, 84, of Johnson Bayou, will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, April 17, 2005 in the Johnson Bayou Baptist Church. Brother Vernon Chevalier will officiate. Burial will follow in Head of the Hollow Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Saturday, April 16, 2005 from 6:00 pm in Johnson Bayou Baptist Church. On Thursday, April 14, 2005 at 5:30 pm, Alton Alfred Trahan went to his heavenly home. He was 84 years old. Alton was born the eldest of 9 children to Alfred and Effie Trahan on February 26, 1921 in Orange, Texas. A lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou, Mr. Trahan attended elementary school and completed the 4th grade. A self taught man, he later went on to receive his high school diploma. As a young man he made his living hunting and trapping. At the age of 21, he proudly served his country during World War II in the Army Battalion A, 107th Field Artillery, from 1942 - 1945. He was in the Normandy Invasion on Omaha Beach and major battles in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He held the rank of Sgt. Tech 4. He was a member of the VFW Cameron Post. Mr. Trahan retired from Mobil Oil Company after 40 years of service as a lease operator. He served his community for 12 years as the Johnson Bayou School Board member and was instrumental in the building of Johnson Bayou School as well as getting the high school state accredited. Mr. Trahan was a member of Johnson Bayou Baptist Church. Brother Eugene Broussard at Deep Bayou baptized him into God's family at the age of 20. Alton was happily married to Mae "Coochie" Mudd Trahan, formerly of Creole Louisiana for 58 years. They were blessed with 4 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Effie Trahan; one sister, Allie Storm; and three brothers, Melvin Trahan, Douglas Trahan, and Elvin Trahan. He will lovingly be missed by his wife, Mae "Coochie" Trahan; two sons, Jesse Trahan and wife, Vicky, Greg Trahan and wife, Penny; two daughters, Judy Erbelding and husband Dwight and Sharon Boudreaux and husband, all of Johnson Bayou. Also surviving Mr. Trahan are two brother, Allen Trahan and Utly Trahan, both of Johnson Bayou; two sisters, Lorraine Blanchard of Johnson Bayou and Sylvia Constance of Sulphur. Mr. Trahan had eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mr. Trahan's grandsons: Casey Trahan, Matthew Labauve, Jared Trahan. Great grandsons: Marcus Jinks and Alec Savoie and nephew Billy Storm. Honorary Pallbearers are his brothers; Utly Trahan and Allen Trahan. Also reported in the Port Arthur News 04/16/05 TRAHAN, Archie Donald LCAP 12/22/2005 Archie Donald “A.D.” Trahan, 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005, in a local hospital. He was born in Johnson Bayou and lived in Grand Chenier after Hurricane Audrey in 1957. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. He worked for McDermott Trans Ocean Oil and later retired with Mobile Oil Co. After his retirement he worked with his lifelong friend Louis Canik at C&B Consultants, where he was a gauger. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, shrimper and cattleman. Survivors include his loving wife, Melba “Boonie” Trahan of Grand Chenier; four sons, David Trahan and wife Jendy of Creole, Martini Trahan and wife Bitsy of Grand Chenier, Ronald Dupuis of Sweetlake, and Scott Trahan and wife Michelle of Creole; five brothers, Pete Trahan of Cameron, Jack Trahan of Lake Charles, James Trahan of Cameron, Francis “Pumpkin” Trahan of DeQuincy, and Jesse Nunez of Big Lake; one sister, Barbara Wolfe of Cameron; seven grandchildren, Blake, Jacob, Julie, Amber, Cana, Meagan and Jonathan; and numerous nieces and nephews. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, in St. Patrick Catholic Church. The Revs. Joseph McGrath and Vincent Vadakkedath will officiate. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation is 6-10 p.m. today, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday, with rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
