In 1957, she moved to Lake Charles, where she resided for the duration of her life. She was a member of Cathedral of Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Hearnest Arvie. She was very active in the church, serving as a deaconess, member of the mission ministry and Sunday school, and secretary for Freeman Memorial COGIC. She was employed through the city of Lake Charles as a school crossing guard for a number of years. Throughout the years she did domestic work for Bubba Landry, and prior to her passing she was employed by the Foreman-Reynaud YMCA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Piney Bartie; son, Anthony West; sister, Mae Ola Mayne; brother, Robert Bartie; and husband, Clarence West. Those who will cherish her memory are four daughters, Evangelist, Lois Lain of Dallas and Thelma Vital, Melissa West and Ophelia Myron Thomas, all of Lake Charles; one son, Walter (Patricia) West of Lake Charles; three devoted grandchildren, Sasha, Darnisha and Walter of Lake Charles; three sisters, Viola Moore of Creole, Joyce Brown of Houston and Everlee Bartie of Lake Charles; two brothers, George Bartie and Tellis (Marie) Bartie of Lafayette; 17 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in Cathedral of Faith Baptist Church. The Rev. Hearnest Arvie will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday in the church. WILLIAMS, Belinda Sue LCAP 01/20/05 Funeral services for Belinda Sue Williams, 46, of Hackberry, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Hackberry. Rev. Jimmy Sanner will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at Seaside Memorial Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas. Local services will be under the direction of the Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be today, Jan. 20, from 2 until 9 p.m. at the church and from 8 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. She died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 in Cameron. She was born June 17, 1958, was a native of Corpus Christi, Texas and a resident of Hackberry. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Hackberry. She was a Commercial Fisherman and loved the water, loved to sing and play the guitar. Survivors include her son David Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas, her father Travis Williams of Corpus Christi, Texas, two sisters, Jennifer Falcon and Trevere Kristina Williams, both of Corpus Christi; her step parents Mickey and Scharee McGregor of Corpus Christi, two half-brothers, Joe Elizdale and Jimmy Elizdale, both of Corpus Christi, her fiance Thomas Goodwin of Hackberry and one granddaughter.
