He was a native of Sulphur and had lived most of his life in Hackberry. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Davis of Hackberry; four sons, Charles Allen Davis of Hackberry, Phillip Wesley Davis of Sulphur and Freddie Eugene Davis and John Hebert Davis, both of Hackberry; one daughter, Lisa Davis of Hackberry; his mother, Rhoda E. Davis of Sulphur; two brothers, Danny and Ricky Davis, both of Sulphur; five sisters, Trudy Sauls of Gulfport, Miss., Darla Davis, Krisha Davis and Danielle Gorsulowski, all of Sulphur, and Joyce Perry of Springfield, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shannon Gail Davis; his father, Romie Davis Sr.; and brother, Romie Davis Jr. A private memorial service will be at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. DEBARGE, Lillian Reaux Cameron Parish Pilot 05/25/2006 The funeral for Lillian Reaux DeBarge, 73, of Cameron and Mauriceville, Tex., was held Wednesday, May 24, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Glenn Landry officiated. Burial was in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. She died Saturday, May 20, 2006, in Mauriceville. Mrs. DeBarge was born in Erath and lived in Cameron most of her life. she was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include four sons and two daughters, Ronald Breaux of Topsy, Cathy Washington of Mauriceville, Thomas DeBarge of Grand Lake, Oran DeBarge of Cameron, Brenda Ellis of Buna, Tex., and Brian DeBarge of Cameron; 13 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; five brothers; one sister. DENNIS, Linda LCAP 07/20/2006 HACKBERRY — Services for Ms. Linda Dennis, 56, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006, at First Baptist Church, 141 Amoco Road. The Rev. Jason Denham will officiate. Burial will follow in Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. today, July 19, and from 8 a.m. Thursday at the church. Ms. Dennis passed away at 10:35 p.m. Monday, July 17, in a Lake Charles hospital. She was a native of Lake Charles and a longtime resident of Hackberry. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hackberry, the Hackberry Athletic Association and HYO. She was a teacher at Hackberry High School for many years. She helped work the game clock for basketball games and helped as an umpire. Survivors include son, Mr. Justin Wayne Cramberg of Carlyss; sister, Mrs. Betty Nunez of Hackberry; two brothers, Mr. Kenny Dennis of Hackberry and Mr. Jimmy Dennis of Carlyss; and numerous nieces and nephews. Photo included with article. DINGER, Henry Joseph LCAP 01/03/2006 Henry Joseph Dinger Sr., 76, died at 3:03 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, in a local hospital. Mr. Dinger was born in Morgan City and lived most of his life in Cameron. He has lived in Lake Charles since 1997. In Cameron, Mr. Dinger worked and ran a commercial shrimp boat for most of his life. He loved the outdoors, working in his yard and garden. He was a member of St. Luke-Simpson Methodist Church. Visitation is 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday. DRONET, Ena Marie Ena M. Dronet, 86, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in a local care facility. Mrs. Dronet was a native of Creole and lived in Lake Charles. Survivors include her son, Rubin Joseph Dronet of Lake Charles; a daughter, Linda Dronet Armentero and husband, Ismael, of Lake Charles; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Melanie Richard; her husband, Jules Dronet; six brothers; and two sisters. DUGAS, Darren James LCAP 08/03/2006 NEDERLAND, Texas—Darren James Dugas, 38, formerly of Creole, La., and a resident of Bridge City, died Saturday, July 29, 2006, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. His funeral was Tuesday, August 1, at Triumph Church in Nederland. Officiants were Bishop Randy Clark and Pastor Deamon Scapin. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Visitation was Monday, July 31, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Mr. Dugas was born September 15, 1967, in Iowa, La. to Larry and Margaret (Miller) Dugas. He was a graduate of South Cameron High School. He was the owner of D&D Construction in Bridge City and was in the trucking business for over 20 years. Darren lived his life selflessly, always helping others. He was instrumental in providing generators, food and other aid to the New Orleans area days after Katrina hit. When Rita affected our area, Darren provided food for the entire hotel where he had evacuated. He then returned to the Golden Triangle with generators and food and was instrumental in cleaning up and rebuilding the devastated area. Darren continued to think of others even after his death by donating his tissues toward Legacy of Life. Darren was fortunate to die doing what he truly loved. He raced jet skis for many years, participating in and winning many events. Mr. Dugas was preceded in death by his father, Larry Gene Dugas; brother, Lonnie Darrell Dugas; grandfather, Kenny Dugas; and grandparents, Reese and Irene Miller. He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Roddam Dugas; his mother and stepfather, Margaret Theriot Butts and James Butts; his sons, Bryden Smith, Grey Smith and Colt Dugas; daughter, Riley Dugas; grandmother, Lou Dugas and mother-in-law, Dorothy Roddam. He is also survived by his brother, Terry Gene Dugas; sister, Tabitha Daigle; and many other family members who he loved very much. Duggan, 50, passed away Friday, April 7, 2006, in Golden Meadows. He was a native of Oliver Springs, Tenn., and he had lived in the Lafayette-Sweetlake area for 25 years. He was a Navy veteran. He was human relations manager for Abdon Callais Offshore. He had worked in the marine industry for 27 years and was a licensed 1,600-ton vessel master and a member of the NRA. He was a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Theriot Duggan; his mother, Betty Goins of Clifford, Mich.; father and mother-in-law, Fredman and Ethel Theriot of Creole-Sweetlake; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ron and Sharon Vincent of Sweetlake; one brother, Michael Duggan of Harrison, Tenn.; three stepbrothers, Scott Goins, Steve Goins and Jessie Goins, all of Clifford; and three sisters, Deborah Duggan Moates of Harrison, Delinda Duggan of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mildred Phillips of Lapeer, Mich. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Clethus Phillips, and sister, Madre Duggan Singley. His funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, from St. Patrick Catholic Church of Sweetlake. Photo with article DUHON, Enola LCAP 03/24/2006 BIG PASTURE — Enola Duhon, 87, died at 7:51 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in a local care facility. Mrs. Duhon was a native of Mamou and longtime resident of Big Pasture. She was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Altar Society. She was also a member of the Cameron Council on Aging, and she had received the Oldest Working Senior Citizen Award in Cameron Parish. She was considered a mother to many. Survivors include her five children, Margaret Hebert, Lula Bell Barrilleaux and husband Daniel, and Charles Duhon and wife Shirley, all of Lake Charles, Jennifer Duhon of Kemp, Texas, and Jeanette Duhon of Big Lake; two stepdaughters, Shirley Lester of Greenville, Texas, and Betty Wood of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alverd Duhon, and grandson, Michael Hebert. Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. today, March 24, in Johnson Funeral Home. Monsignor Harry Greig will officiate. He was native of Big Lake, and a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a Navy veteran and served in World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur, VFW Post 8107 in Sulphur, where he was past post commander and American Legion Post 179. Mr. Joe was the former owner of Appliance Service and formerly was employed by Ike’s Radio & T.V. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Duplechin Duhon; one daughter, Cindy Morse; two grandsons, Joey Morse and Derek Fontenot; and one granddaughter, Dorothy Nell Laxson. LCAP 03/10/2006 Walter Joseph Dupuis, 70, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in a local hospital. He was a native of Grand Chenier and lived there for many years, moving to the Lake Charles area in 1977. Mr. Dupuis worked in the oilfield industry most of his life and worked for the Cameron Parish and Calcasieu Parish sheriff’s offices. He was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman. His greatest love was for his wife, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Laura Rose Jester Dupuis of Lake Charles; two daughters, Judy Jones and husband James and Monica Haydell and husband Patrick, all of Lake Charles; four sons, Michael (Mike) Dupuis and wife Adrianna of Big Lake, Keith Dupuis and wife Angie and Todd Dupuis and wife Shannon, all of Lake Charles, and Ronald Dupuis of Sweetlake; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Benoit and husband Winston of Lacassine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
