Mr. Hantz was born and raised in Hackberry and has lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Hackberry High School and attended McNeese State University. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS American CV-66 during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Hantz retired from Citgo Petroleum as a supervisor after 32 years of service. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed playing cards, golf and watching football. His passion was fishing, as he was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the CCA fishing club. Mr. Hantz was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. He has touched the lives of many loved ones and will be greatly missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Marie “Chi-Chi” Nocilla Hantz of Lake Charles; his mother, Urline Trahan Hantz of Hackberry; four sons, Tony Hantz and wife, Renee of Westlake, Donny Reed II and wife, Fabrina of Lake Charles, Jared Reed of Lake Charles and Daren Reed and wife, Molly of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Robbie Handy, Donny Reed III and Madeline Reed; two brothers, Clifford Hantz and wife, Brenda of Hackberry and Joe Hantz and wife, Dianne of Magnolia, Texas; mother- in-law, Frances Nocilla; and one uncle, Clarence Duhon of Jennings. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Hantz. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church Cemetery in Hackberry, La. Visitation will be 1-10 p.m. Friday with a rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home. PHOTO included with article HAYS, Denice Barbier LCAP 01/31/06 KINGWOOD, Texas — Funeral service for Mrs. Denice Barbier Hays, 50, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at Robison Funeral Home Chapel, 107 West Napoleon St., Sulphur. The Rev. Leon Boggs will officiate. Burial will be in Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, and from 8 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Hays passed away at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, in a Houston hospital. She was a longtime resident of Hackberry. She graduated from Hackberry High School and moved to Houston in the late 80’s. Denice worked as a computer technician for First Health and was a member of Hackberry United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Eugene Hays of Kingwood; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel “Titter” LaBove and her husband, M.O., of Hackberry, and Mrs. Juanette Myers and her husband, Ralph, of Lake Charles; three nieces; and one nephew HEBERT, Mr. Patrick LCAP 09/23/2006 The funeral for Mr. Patrick Hebert, 43, of Hackberry, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, from St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church hall in Hackberry. The Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. Monday in the church hall. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Hebert passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, in a Lake Charles hospital. Survivors include his parents, Edward and Linda Lou Hebert of Hackberry; brother, Terry Wayne Hebert of Hackberry; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a lifelong resident of Holly Beach. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman.
