LCAP 07/28/2006 HACKBERRY — Funeral services for Mr. Stanford L. LaBauve, 94, of Hackberry, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church Hall, Hackberry. The Rev. Roland Vaughn will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Hackberry Cemetery, Hackberry, under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 a.m.- 9 p.m. Friday, July 28, with a rosary at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the church hall. Mr. LaBauve passed away at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, in Hackberry. He was a native of Cameron and a lifelong resident of Hackberry for the past 65 years. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry and a member of Pipefitters Local 106. He was formerly employed by the Civilian Conservation Corp. during World War II and was the former owner of LaBauve’s RV Park & Boat Launch. Mr. Stanford retired in 1970, from W.R. Grace as a pipefitter after over 17 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Gertie O’Quain LaBauve. Survivors include three sons, Mr. Jackie LaBauve and wife, Barbara of Haughton, Mr. Reuben LaBauve and wife, Marilyn of Hackberry and Mr. Dwight LaBauve and wife, Carlean of Vick,; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Doucet and Mrs. Olive Fontenot, both of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Berwick and husband, Hank of Leesville, and Mrs. Sheilah Soirez and husband, Carroll of Moss Bluff; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. LABOVE, Randal Scott LCAP 04/26/2006 Born December 6, 1967 Died April 22, 2006 CAMERON — Randal Scott LaBove, 38, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006, in Sulphur. Randal was a lifelong resident of Cameron. He was a commercial crabber and fisherman. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Creole. He loved his family and enjoyed being a father, and all will miss him. He is survived by his wife, Tara LaBove, daughters, Samantha, Mary and Aaliyah LaBove, father, Wilton “W.A.” LaBove and stepmother, Toulay, all of Cameron; grandmother, Ruby Smith of Vidor, Texas; brother, Jared LaBove and wife Angie, sister, Lisa Guidry and husband John, and stepsister, Kathy Brooks and husband Richard, all of Creole; aunts, Brenda VanAtten of Creole and Mary Smith of Vidor; and uncles, Paul LaBove of Cameron and Max Smith and Johnny Smith, both of Vidor. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Joyce Smith LaBove; grandfather, G.C. Smith; grandparents, Bessie and Alton LaBove; stepbrother, Jessie Reese; uncles, George Smith and Donald LaBove; and fatherin-law, Wallace Styron Sr. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 27, from St. Patrick Chapel. Photo with article LEBOUEF, Floyd Russell LCAP 03/30/2006 Floyd Russell LeBouef, 86, went to meet his Lord early Tuesday morning after a heroic struggle with mesothelioma. Floyd was born July 17, 1919, to Eli and Claudia LeBouef in Sweetlake. He was the middle of three children. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Walter LeBoeuf (his loving widow, Teresa LeBouef) of Lake Charles, and younger sister, Audrey Fournerat of Bell City. He married Elsie McDowell of Jena in 1946, and they had three children. He leaves behind a loving and grateful wife of 60 years and devoted children: Dorothy Jeanne Tarbell (husband, Jim Tarbell) of Whittier, Calif., Mary Craft (husband, Mark Craft) of Edmond, Okla., and Russell LeBouef, deceased; four grandchildren: Jay Tarbell of Las Vegas, Jessica Thompson of Whittier, and Mitchell and Morgan Craft, both of Edmond; extended family members and beloved friends. The three loves and priorities of his life were God, family and country. He was never as happy as when he was helping others. The first 80 years of Floyd’s life were spent in Louisiana. He met the Lord in 1953. He was an active member and deacon at Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles for more than 40 years,; he taught Sunday school and served in various positions. He was also active in the establishment of the Lake Charles Grace Rescue Mission. He moved to Edmond in 1998, where he became a member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church. Floyd served four years in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II, with the 102nd Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion, receiving among other awards the American Defense Service Medal, the marksman award and five Bronze Stars. He worked as a pipefitter at Cit-Con Refinery from 1947 to 1981. He was a member of the John C. Ayers Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday. Photo with article. LEDOUX, Evans J. LCAP 06/04/2006 Evans Joseph LeDoux, 77, died at 12 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2006, in a local care facility. He was born on Jan. 15, 1929, in Eunice, raised in Big Lake and had resided in Lake Charles for more than 65 years. In 1991 he retired from Olin Chemical as a millwright after 43 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Anna Mae Saucier LeDoux of Lake Charles; daughter, Emma Young and husband Phillip of Lake Charles; son, Evans Jerome LeDoux of Lake Charles; sister, Lena Harper Lacy; brothers, D.J. LeDoux and Clifton LeDoux; grandchildren, Ross Granger, Rodd Granger, Reagan Granger, Josh LeDoux and Jason LeDoux; and greatgrandchildren, Emmalee, Ellyse and Ellaina Granger and Gabriel LeDoux. He was preceded in death by his son, David Bennett LeDoux; and daughter, Pam LeDoux Matulik. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 5, in Johnson Funeral Home. LEWIS, Floyd Abraham LCAP 08//01/2006 CAMERON — Floyd Abraham Lewis, 80, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006, in a local care center. Mr. Lewis was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Perry, Fla. Mr. Lewis was a retired shrimper and had one of the best tomato gardens in town. He leaves behind one son, Dorsey Lewis of Boyd, Texas; four daughters, Shirley Gray and husband Monroe of Cameron, Darlene Kelley of Holmwood, Diana Davis and husband Cliff of Lithia, Fla., and Janet Hagar of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and Kelsi Moon his special Little Dixie Chick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ewella Lewis. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Henry Prentice will officiate.
