Mrs. Melancon was born May 9, 1925, in Jennings and had lived in the Lake Charles area for 37 years. She was a graduate of Hathaway High School and McNeese State University, with a bachelor’s in education. She taught elementary school for 20 years with the Cameron Parish School Board, where she was awarded teacher of the year. Mrs. Melancon was a member of the Louisiana Teacher’s Association, the Calcasieu-Cameron Retired Teacher’s Association, the Cajun French Music Association, and she played in the Deep South Cajun Band. Mrs. Melancon is survived by her three sons, Gene Primeaux and wife Carolyn of Lake Charles, Earl Primeaux and wife Brenda of DeRidder, and Robert Primeaux and wife Jean of Sweetlake; sister, Mildred Gay of Temple, Texas; stepchildren, Michael Melancon of Lake Charles, Pamela Lechtenbert and husband Patrick of Plano, Texas, and Tonda Lynn Bartek of Fort Worth, Texas; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Rosa Thibodeaux; her first husband of 50 years, H. D. “T-Boy” Primeaux; and her second husband of nine years, Sidney J. Melancon. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today, June 19, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will follow in Chenier Perdue Cemetery in Creole. American Press:2006 Dec 11 “To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 On Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at 12:10 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge after a six-year battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, our world, our loving mom, caring sister, devoted gani and loyal friend passed away. She was 59 and born in Foley, Ala., a resident of Cameron and Lake Charles for 20 years and a resident of Baton Rouge for over 25 years. She was a homemaker, bartender and an insurance agent with Life of Georgia and Minnesota Mutual. She was full of energy and life, and never met a stranger. She was very honest, always kept her word and was very protective of her family. She collected horse carousels and music boxes. She loved to go shopping and shower her loved ones with gifts. She loved all animals but had a fondness for her French poodles. It is with great sadness that we let her go, but we are glad she will be home for Christmas and at peace without pain and suffering. She is survived by her loving family: two daughters, Stacey Hebert Tull and husband, George C. Tull IV, and Casey Metrailer Trichel and husband, Spencer Trichel; beloved French poodle, Inkie Metrailer; two stepdaughters, Tracy and husband, Tim Ayers, and Amy Martin; granddaughter, Jaci Noel “Punkie” Tull; two grandsons, George “Quinn” Tull V and Alec Dale Dull; four stepgrandchildren; sister, Sharon Murphy; brother, Ronnie Daniels; brother-in-law and wife, William and Linda Metrailer; three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and husband Carlo Cina, Jan and husband Steve Oivanki, Ann and husband Bernie Sharkey; numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and her best friend of 45 years, Jane Whiteman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Robert Fulmer Metrailer; and her parents, Carlos “C.M.” Daniels and Dorothy Devers. Photo included with article MILLER, Eugene Paul LCAP 08/17/2006 Eugene Paul Miller, 84, of Lake Charles, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, in a local hospital. Mr. Miller was born and raised in Grand Chenier and lived there until 1991. He was a graduate of Grand Chenier High School. He served the Army during World War II. Mr. Miller worked his way up through the ranks in the oil field for more than 40 years. He retired as a supervisor in 1981 from Kerr-McGee. He was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years, Marie Nunez Miller of Lake Charles; one sister, Emma Louise Theriot of Grand Chenier; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prevate and Aspasie Miller, and one sister, Ramona Jones. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, from Christ the King Catholic Church. The Rev. Vincent Vadakkedath will officiate. Burial will be in St. Eugene Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Chenier under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is noon-9 p.m. today in the funeral home, with a Scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m., and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday. MILLER, Jules Joseph LCAP 05/12/2005 Jules Joseph Miller, 43, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006, following an automobile accident. He was a lifelong resident of Cameron. He was a commercial fisherman and a Baptist. His survivors include his children, Brent Miller and Kayla Miller, both of Crowley; mother of his children, Lillian LaBove of Crowley; former wife, Kim Wilkinson of Lake Charles; father, Jules Miller of Grand Lake; brothers, Roger Dyson of Cross City, Fla., Cleveland Gaspard of Lake Charles and Ronald Gaspard of LeBlanc; and sister, Joann M. Quick of Grand Lake. His mother, Dorothy Miller, preceded him in death. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13 in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Andrew D. Martin Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in First Baptist Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation is from 9 a.m. Saturday. Accident near LC kills man 05/10/2006 LCAP Page B2 A man died in a one-car accident Tuesday south of Lake Charles. Jules J. Miller, 43, of 6675 U.S. 90 East, Lot 180, died at a local hospital following the accident. Miller lived in Grand Lake prior to Hurricane Rita. According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. when a car traveling north on Tom Hebert Road about 400 yards south of Gauthier Road left the roadway and struck a mailbox. When Miller tried to steer back on the road, he lost control and the car skidded off the road again, flipping and ending in a ditch. As state law mandates, toxicology tests will be performed to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident. Sgt. Pat Johnson is the lead investigator in the case MORRIS, Clifton Jr. LCAP 01/13/2006 JOHNSON BAYOU — The funeral for Clifton “BoBo” Morris Jr., 53, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Robison Funeral Home Chapel, 107 W. Napoleon St., Sulphur. The Rev. Jimmy Sanner, Father Roland Vaughn and the Revs. Les Fogleman and Loren Burnett will officiate. Burial will be in Head of the Hollow Cemetery. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Morris passed away at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, in Johnson Bayou, at his home. He was a native of Orange, Texas, and a lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou. He was a Texas Army National Guard veteran, a member of the Cameron Parish School Board for the past seven years and a Mason. He was employed by Mobile Oil & JM Test Equipment in the Oil Field Industry. BoBo loved to be involved in the community and served on several local and parish boards. He enjoyed a large extended family and had a wealth of friends. In his own words, pending death, he wrote “My works in this life have been far from perfect before God, but I have put my trust and faith in his tender mercies, the perfect precious blood he shed upon Calvary’s cross, and in the fact that on the third day, he rose again.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Gladys Morris; and one brother, Mr. Bobby Morris. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mrs. Patricia Hennigan Morris of Johnson Bayou; two sons, Donald Morris and wife Christina and Ronnie “Dale” Morris, both of Kingwood, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Morris and Rex Bullard, both of Orange, Texas; and one granddaughter, Sydney Morris of Kingwood. SCHOOL BD. MEMBER DIES THURS. Cameron Parish Pilot 01/19/2006 Clifton “Bobo” MORRIS, Jr., 53, Cameron Parish School Board member for the past seven years, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 at his home in Johnson Bayou. He was in his second term on the School Board and represented the Johnson Bayou-Holly Beach area. A graduate of West Orange, Tex. High School, he was employed by the Texaco Oil Co. in Port Arthur for seven years and was employed by Mobil Oil & JM Test Equipment for a number of years. He was a Texas Army National Guard veteran and a Mason. He served on the Johnson Bayou Recreation Board for eight years and had been one of the first volunteers in the Johnson Bayou Fire Dept. He had been active in the annual Cameron Parish Beach Cleanup. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 24 at Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur. The Rev. Jimmy Sanner, Father Roland Vaughan, Rev. Lee Fogleman and Rev. Loren Burnett officiated. Burial was in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hennigan Morris of Johnson Bayou; two sons, Donald Morris and wife Christina, and Ronnie “Dale” Morris, all of Kingwood, Tex.; two brothers, Wayne Morris and Rex Bullard, both of Orange, Tex. and one granddaughter.
