Alma was born and raised in Hackberry. She had resided in Creole since 1959, until she was forced by Hurricane Rita to relocate to the Sulphur-Maplewood area. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church of Creole, where she worked for about 29 years, and was also a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Sulphur. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and made Women’s Cursillo 27. Her life was her God, her family and her friends. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Milford Theriot of Sulphur; son, Rodger Theriot and wife Karen of Sweetlake; daughter, Alice Perez and husband Carlos of Carlyss; five grandchildren, Gregoire, Tyler, Kaitlin, Theresa and John; brothers, Joseph East and wife Barbara and Leroy East and Pam, all of Hackberry; and sister, Russie Stelly and husband Kenneth of Jennings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Alice East; sister, Margaret Bacque; and brother, Wilson “Red” East. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today, Sept. 21, from Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church of Sulphur under direction of Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph McGrath will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation is 8-12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. THERIOT, David Dwain Sr. LCAP 08/03/2006 David Dwain Theriot Sr., 46, died August 1, 2006, in a local care center. Born in Creole, La., he lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a shrimper and loved his family and loved to have a good time. He died of cancer in his home at Oak Park Health Cente. Survivors are one son, David Dwain Theriot Jr. of Point Blank, Texas; his mother, Peggy Farris of Moss Bluff; three sisters, Gail Theriot of Spiro, Okla., Susanne (Tommy) Perrin of Moss Bluff and Bettina (Frank) Hubbard of Dallas, Ga.; two brothers, Terry J. (Jeanette) Theriot of McKenzie, Tenn. and Randy Warren of Moss Bluff; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 4, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Rev. Charles McMillin will officiate. Photo included with article THERIOT, Joseph E. “Jack” LCAP 01/12/2006 Joseph E. “Jack” Theriot, 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, in his residence. He was a native of Grand Chenier and had lived in Moss Bluff for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II. He was a member of Moss Bluff United Methodist Church and served as a chaplain for the DAV Chapter. Survivors include his loving wife, Mrs. Hazel M. Theriot of Moss Bluff; one son, James Theriot of Creole; one daughter, Debra Ann Mobley of Natchitoches; two stepdaughters, Lorena Alice Trahan of Lake Charles and Leona Mae Elliott of Irvington, Ala.; two sisters, Artemise Boudreaux and Letha Mae Savoie, both of Creole; one half sister, Lucille Miller of Little Chenier; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two step- greatgrandchildren. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Stewart Sherman will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. She lived in Cameron all of her life. She was of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her parents, Joseph and Edna Theriot of Lake Charles; her companion of seven years, Edmond Lemons of Lake Charles, and loving father to their son, Anthony Lemons of Lake Charles; two brothers, Larry Theriot and wife Margaret “Peanut” and Randy Theriot, both of Lake Charles; one sister, Cindy Theriot of Kinder; three nieces, Jessica Bourque, Jeri and Tressa Theriot; four nephews, Tommy Wayne, Joseph, Brian Theriot and Eric Linden; and a host of family and friends. Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 13, from St. Patrick Catholic Chapel of Sweetlake. The Rev. Joseph McGrath will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery. TITTLE, Beulah LCAP 03/06/2006 Beulah “Bea” Marie Tittle, 80, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Lake Charles. She was a native of Big Lake and had lived in Lake Charles for many years. She was a member of the Lake Area Worship Center and was a store manager at Gordon’s Jewelry Store. Survivors include her husband, Clifford Tittle; one son, Wayne Kelly Devall and wife Kay of Big Lake; one daughter, Gail LeJeune Devall and husband Arnold of Moss Bluff; seven grandchildren, Warren LeJeune, Dana Beard, Pam LeJeune, Ann Granger, Cindi Devall, Ginnie Devall and Kelly Devall; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ryan LeJeune, Devin LeJeune, Tyler Cline, Kyle Sorrels, Katelynn Granger, Madelynn Granger, Seth Shoemake, Sydnie Beard, Kayla Devall and Breanna Devall. Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today in the funeral home. TRAHAN, Gladys Vincent LCAP 11/13/2006 Mrs. Gladys Vincent Trahan, 94, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in her residence. She was born Sept. 19, 1912, in Hackberry and lived in Sulphur all of her married life. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur and she retired as an LPN from West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Robert Lee Trahan. She is survived by two sons, Mr. Robert Lee Trahan Jr. and his wife, Patsy Little Trahan, and Mr. Randy Joseph Trahan and his wife, Cheryl Osterhout Trahan, all of Choupique; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah Trahan Cowick and her husband, Dr. Don Cowick, of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren, Brenda Shoppe, Nancy Cooper, Robert Trahan, Sheldon Trahan, Glen Cowick, Leah Cowick and Dana Eubanks; and 10 great- grandchildren. The funeral for Mrs. Trahan will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Nov. 13, from Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 1109 Cypress St., Sulphur. Father Ernest Corriveau, M.S., will officiate. LCAP 02/12/2006 Born May 31, 1932 Died February 11, 2006 John O. “Big John” Trahan passed into eternal life at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, in the home of his daughter in Grand Lake. Born in Hayes to Eddie Joseph and Odelia Hebert Trahan on May 31, 1932, John made his home in Grand Lake in 1967 and lived there until his passing. He never met a stranger. If you did not know him when you arrived, you surely knew him when you left. He loved to talk and cook for crowds. He is survived by his children, Jeffery Trahan of Las Vegas and Twyla Meistrell and Marcy Duhon, both of Grand Lake; four stepchildren, Janice Alderson of Orange, Texas, John Alderson of Amarillo, Texas, Mandy Munoz of Brookshire, Texas, and Charlie Alderson of Tampa, Fla. He had 12 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Floyd Trahan of Sulphur and James Trahan of Grand Lake; two sisters, Mary LaCombe of Lake Charles and Suzie Janice of Aurora, Colo.; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosa Mae Newton. A memorial service in his honor will be held at a future date to be announced by his family. Johnson Funeral Home handled the arrangements. TRAHAN, Margie Mae LCAP 05/25/2006 CREOLE — Margie Mae Trahan, 78, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006, in a local hospital. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She loved to dance and do yard work. Survivors include her son, Carl “Bubba” Trahan and wife Judy of Creole; daughter, Carolyn Benoit and husband Floyd of Creole; sister, Rena Lebouef; five grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorcelie and Artimese Boudoin; husband, Murl Trahan; one son, Caroll Trahan; and one sister, Lourena Trahan. Visitation is 10 a.m.-9 p.m. today in the funeral home, with a rosary at 7 p.m. photo included with article Cameron Parish Pilot 05/25/2006 TROSCLAIR, Adenise “Ms. Bolo” LCAP 06/22/2006 CAMERON — Adenise “Ms. Bolo” Trosclair, 80, passed away in a local hospital Monday, June 19, 2006. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and was named Daughter of the Year three times. She was a member of the Altar Society, and was named grand regent Catholic daughter twice. She received the Benemerenti medal from the pope. She served on the Cameron Parish Police Jury in 1963 after the death of her husband, Roland Bolo Trosclair Sr. She served as grand marshal in the ’70s for the Louisiana Fur and Wildlife Festival and was cofounder and owner of Trosclair Canning Co., the oldest family-owned business in Cameron Parish. It opened in 1948. She was supportive and active in her community, church and school. She is survived by her seven grandchildren, Roland “Joey” Trosclair III and wife Veronica, Benjie Trosclair, Stevie Trosclair and wife Holly, Phillip “Scooter” and wife Amanda, Adenise Michelle Conner and husband Todd, John Paul Trosclair and Thomas Lee Trosclair; and nine greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland “Bolo” Trosclair Sr.; her two sons, Roland Trosclair Jr. and Phillip Luke Trosclair II; a granddaughter, Rosa Lee Trosclair; and her lifelong companion, Tubby Pellegrin. Her funeral will be 10 a.m. today, June 22, from St. Patrick Catholic Chapel of Sweetlake. The Rev. Joseph McGrath will officiate.
