Henry, "father of Cameron Parish, in Louisiana, died yesterday at Cameron, age 72. He was a native of Lancaster, Pa. He went to Ohio and was professor of languages and mathematics in an Ohio college. "He settled in Louisiana in 1870, in Calcasieu Parish, the southern part of which he had cut off and made into a new parish. "He gave it the name of in honor of his friend, Simon Cameron of Pennsylvania. He was chosen Parish Judge, which office, he held until it was abolished in 1878. "He was then sent to the Legislature, of which body he was twice Speaker. He was a member of the Legislature at the time of his death. "He was largely instrumental in the founding of the biological station at Cameron last year (1901) for the study of Gulf fish life."
