All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** State of Louisiana } Parish of Catahoula } Before me Samuel Lightner Judge of the Parish of Catahoula aforesaid and the two Subscribing Witnesses on this thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one personally appeared Joel Trehaern of the Parish and State aforesaid and acknowledged that for and in consideration of five hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by Hugh B. Johnston of said Parish & State the receipt of which sum is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained Sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain Sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Hugh B. Johnston a certain improvement of Land lying on Sicily Island adjoining the Pine hills and lands claimed by Kirkland on one side and lands claimed by the Heirs of William M. Smith on the other being the same conveyance which is on Record in the office of the Parish Judge and the same whereon the Polish Dannels now resides. To gether with all and singular the Houses buildings and appurtenances thereto belonging To have and to Hold the said above described improvement of Land with the appurtenances to the said Hugh B. Johnson his heirs and assigns for ever and it agreed by the Parties that the said Joel Treharne is not to Warrant the title of said improvement, only from himself heirs and assigns. And on the same day and date came Hugh B. Johnston being present accepts the foregoing conveyance in all its Parts and Clauses.
