He Dies from His Wounds.
            Mr. David A. Reed, the Deputy Sheriff of Catahoula parish, who was waylaid last 
Friday evening, near Troyville, and shot in the head with a Winchester rifle ball, lingered 
until Saturday night in great pain, when he died.  The assassin is still at large, and there is 
little if anything in the shape of a clue to his identity to be found. - Natchez Democrat.
